Winner of the First Edition of the International Competition of Guitar Composition “Goffredo Petrassi” (Rome), Sorrentino is an internationally-renowned performer who promotes the contemporary repertoire for classical and electric guitar. His works combine elements of contemporary classical, minimalism, avant-garde, ambient, aleatory and experimental music.
Sorrentino has worked extensively with many of the leading contemporary composers, premiering and recording major works by Bussotti, Corghi, Curran, Delpriora, Montalbetti, Taglietti, Bryars, Armstrong, Boccadoro, Sani, Colombo-Taccani, Rebora, Longo, Frega, Talmelli, Simoni and Pavia among numerous others.
