I Solisti Aquilani


I Solisti Aquilani were founded in 1968 under the guidance of Vittorio Antonellini.

Their repertoire ranges from pre-baroque to contemporary music. They have given concerts in Europe, Africa, America, Middle and Far East and are guests of the most prestigious musical institutions and concert halls in Central and South America, Austria, Canada, Croatia, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Ireland, Yugoslavia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Hungary.

The orchestra has collaborated with great musicians such as Maurice Andrè, Felix Ayo, Paul Badura Skoda, Hermann Baumann, Renato Bruson, Michele Campanella, Severino Gazzelloni, Massimo Quarta, Jean Pierre Rampal, Ramin Bahrami, Massimo Mercelli, Gabriele Pieranunzi, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Salvatore Accardo, Luis Bacalov, Andrea Griminelli, Giovanni Sollima, Alessandro Carbonare, Alessio Allegrini, Mischa Maisky, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Krzysztof Penderecki, Sergei Nakariakov, Mario Brunello, Anna Tifu, Shlomo Mintz, Richard Galliano, Manuel Barrueco, Marco Rizzi, Andrea Lucchesini, Edicson Ruiz, Vinicio Capossela. They have done important projects with Peter Eötvös, Lars Thoresen, Carla Fracci, Paolo Mieli, Piergiorgio Odifreddi, Walter Veltroni and John Malkovich.

On June 1, 2017, live on RAIUNO from Palazzo del Quirinale, they played in the presence of the President and the highest institutional offices.

In April 2019 they were invited to Brussels, in the seat of the European Parliament, and to Rome, in Palazzo Montecitorio, with the project “A New Season” and in September of the same year they were guests of the 63rd edition of “Biennale” in Venice.

Since 2013 Maurizio Cocciolito is the artistic director.
