RMN Classical set date for the next Electroacoustic & Beyond release.

RickNEWS, RMN CLASSICAL

RMN Classical is exceptionally proud to announce the release of the fifth volume of the Electroacoustic series titled Electroacoustic & Beyond vol. 5. Launched in 2016 with the release of its first volume, this latest volume features the winners of the Call for Electroacoustic Works 2019 showcasing 6 new works created using electroacoustic sound manipulation and electronic sound generation.

Electroacoustic music – sometimes considered by some a neglected sub-genre of electronic music – since its inception has been at the forefront of sound-composition innovation. It is reasonable to think and argue that, year after year in a not-so-distant future, our digital life will have organically grown to a point where almost every piece of music art-work will include electroacoustic sound generation and manipulation in some form. With this collection we feel the urge of championing and promoting some of the most exciting and interesting ideas of this recent years.

The “positive” challenges offered by this art-medium are many and all equally interesting: how can electronically generated sounds be used structurally in a composition? How should work be organised? What is (or might be) considered an interesting original music idea? Some other exciting aspects are linked to piece-development challenges: how the various elements of a composition can be elaborated, interweaved and transformed? Or how to retain listeners attention for the work entire length?

This fifth volume – as well as the entire collection – wants to promote and showcase those talented composers and works that, through their ingenuity and original ideas, better summarise some of those artistic challenges that this music-genre offers.

Electroacoustic & Beyond vol. 5 full track-list includes:

  1. Quadri degli elementi, composed by Marco Dibeltulu
  2. Junktures, composed by Jason Fick
  3. First Rituals, composed by David Holland
  4. Isaac’s World, composed by Filipe Leitao
  5. Religious Transformations, composed by Anna Vassiliadis
  6. The Shoulder, composed by Gráinne Mulvey

“The unique subjective reply (interpretation & understanding) to artistic enquiries makes every art-form so beautifully rich, varied and engaging.” (R. Romano)

Electroacoustic & Beyond 5 will be available on every digital outlet and platform June 3rd, 2020 on RMN Classical.

Please refer to RMN Classical official pages for full description of composers and the works showcased.
