RMN Classical announces the release of the second volume of the In Focus series. The new release, titled “In Focus 2”, is part of a new editorial line created by RMN Classical to showcase brilliant talents and creators selected from the RMN Classical roster. This second volume is set to be released on July 16th 2020 on a world-wide digital release.
With this new series RMN Classical wants to build awareness around those composers that have already achieved remarkable results in their career and were awarded international prizes of notable importance.
The composers featured in this second volume include Michael Seltenreich (b. 1988) a New York based Israeli composer of contemporary music whose eclectic style is shaped by having lived and studied in Israel, France, and the United States. Michael won the Toru Takemitsu Competition and the Israel Prime Minister Award, which launched his composition career internationally, leading to performances in five continents and by some of the world’s leading orchestras, ensembles, and soloists.
Shuying Li is an award-winning composer who began her musical education in her native China. After winning a scholarship moved to the USA at the University of Michigan for her Master’s degree. She has recently been appointed to a Research Faculty position at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Recently, Shuying made her Carnegie Hall debut with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra for the premiere of the commissioned work. Besides, Shuying has been named one of the three resident composers in the Composer Librettist Development Program with the American Lyric Theatre in their 2017-2018 season.
Marco Molteni, an Italian composer whose works have been awarded at international competitions like the Festival WNMD 2010 Sydney, the IBLA Grand Prize NY, the International Festival of Electroacoustic Music MUSLAB Mexico, and the NYCEMF Electroacoustic Music Festival New York. His music has been broadcasted by Radio France, National Italian Broadcaster RAI, ABC Sidney, CBC Toronto among others and it has been published by BMG Ricordi and Arspublica.
Juan Manuel Abras (Stockholm, 1975) is an international award-winning composer, conductor and musicologist. Born in Sweden and raised in Switzerland and Madrid, he was trained in Vienna, Germany, Venice, Kraków, Spain and Buenos Aires. A disciple of K. Penderecki, he also studied with K. Stockhausen, H. Lachenmann, W. Rihm and A. Mullenbach. He is a recipient of the National Fund for the Arts Scholarship (Buenos Aires) and of the Fundacja Argentynska Scholarship (Warsaw). Among the awards he was 2nd Prize at the City of Vienna Film Music Competition, and at the Sibelius Chamber Orchestra Bicentenario.
Per Christian Arnesen (Oslo, 1966) is a Norwegian composer whose works have been performed in Norway, Lithuania, Los Angeles, Sidney and various other countries. He is winner of various call for scores including the RMN Classical Call for Works through which he was discovered by the label. Arnesen established and conducted Vestfold Sinfonietta, a professional ensemble created together with the international clarinet soloist, Roger Arve Vigulf, and Ole Böhn, the former concertmaster of Oslo’s Norwegian National Opera Orchestra.
Nicola Fumo Frattegiani, an Italian composer whose works have been showcased and performed at various international festivals, including BFE / RMA, Noisefloor Festival (UK), Synchresis (Spain), Evimus (Germany), MUSLAB (Brazil), ICMC (South Korea), NYCEMF (USA), SMC (Cyprus), Echofluxx (Poland), XXII CIM, Diffrazioni Multimedia Festival, Architecture Biennale of Venice (Italy).
