Contemporary Chamber Music vol. 2 New Album Release

RMN Classical announced a new release part of the contemporary classical collection titled Contemporary Chamber Music 2which will hit all the platforms and stores on March 25th 2020.

The release includes seven new compositions written by some of today’s most interesting and promising composers, with a total of sixteen new tracks performed by numerous talented artists among which Contemporaneus conducted by David Bloom, Marsyas Trio with soprano Rachel Duckett, Auditiv Vokal Dresden Ensemble, Fortissimo Saxophone, violinist Yu-Fang Chen and clarinettist Pei-Lun Tsai, conductor Yizhang Liu and others.

Will Healy is a New York-based composer and pianist noted for his “lushly bluesy” sound and “adroitly blended… textures” (the New York Times), recipient of the Richard Rodgers Scholarship at The Juilliard School, where he studied with John Corigliano, Steven Stucky, and Samuel Adler. His recent awards include a Charles Ives Scholarship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, two ASCAP Morton Gould Awards, a JFund commission from the American Composers Forum, and prizes in the Juilliard and Kaleidoscope Orchestra Composition Competitions. He is the artistic director of ShoutHouse, a collective of hip-hop, jazz, and classical musicians and he is also an accomplished pianist specialising in Bach. Healy’s work has appeared at The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, The Apollo, on the NY Philharmonic’s Biennial series and more.

Zou Hao is a Chinese composer winner of various international piano competitions and composition competition. A former student of Dr Jesse Jones and Dr Stephen, Hartke is now studying with Dr Zhou Long at UMKC Conservatory of Music where he was admitted with the highest scholarship – for his talent and excellence in composition. Zou aims to extract the very essence from traditional Chinese music and present it in his (own) works to forge a personal style and portray the profound aesthetic appeals of oriental music culture.

Will Frampton is a composer whose work has been performed by ensembles such as the Orchestra of Opera North, Psappha Ensemble, Berkeley Ensemble and Allegri Quartet. Will’s music has featured at several festivals and has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3. His works have been commissioned by various ensembles and performers, and he regularly collaborates with multimedia artist Nastassja Simensky. Will has previously studied at Goldsmith’s College (London) and privately with Robert Saxton and David Matthews. In 2016, he was awarded the AHRC North West Consortium Partnership full award for PhD research which is currently being undertaken with the supervision of Professor Camden Reeves at the University of Manchester where Will also tutors in composition. 

Demian Rudel Rey has received more than 30 awards and mentions in national and international competitions, and his pieces have been selected and programmed in more than 60 festivals around the world. His compositions are published by BabelScores, Métamorphoses, TEM & CMMAS and played by numerous artists around the world, like Quatuor Tana, Alest, Atelier XX-21, CNSMDL’s Orchestra, Quartetto Mitja, Auditv Vokal Dresden, Reconsil Ensemble, EMC DAMus, Barcelona Modern Ensemble, Cuarteto Argentum to name but a few. Demian Rudel Rey received the scholarships from Centre international Nadia et Lili Boulanger, Mécénat Musicale Société Générale, Mozarteum Argentino and BECAR Argentine Cultural Ministry.

Chin Ting Chan (1986) is an Hong-Kong-American composer awarded at international competitions. He received recognition from the American Prize, ASCAP, Foundation for Modern Music, MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music, New-Music Consortium and numerous others. He has been a fellow and guest composer at festivals such as IRCAM’s ManiFeste (Paris, 2013/2018), the ISCM World Music Days Festival (Tongyeong, 2016; Tallinn, 2019), and UNESCO International Rostrum of Composers (Tallinn, 2015). He has held residencies and commissions from various organisations and has worked with ensembles such as Ensemble inter-contemporain, ensemble mise-en, Ensemble Signal, Hong Kong New Music Ensemble – among others – with performances in more than twenty countries. Chan is currently Assistant Professor of Music Composition at Ball State University.

Antonio Fraioli is an Italian accomplished jazz clarinettist. He performs regularly around the world in countries like Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, US, Canada and others, both as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles. He has recorded for different labels among which Tactus, Musica Viva, Edipan, EurArte, AFM Roma, and played for radios and broadcasters like Rai-RadioTre, Rai-TV1, Radio Nacional de Espana, Radio Vaticana, Troy University Public Radio (US), WOMR Radio (US), Radio Cemat and Punto Radio. He has written compositions, transcriptions and arrangements that have been performed and recorded on CDs and DVDs in numerous countries. He is Professor of Music for Wind Ensembles at the “Giuseppe Martucci” Conservatoire in Salerno, vice president of the Accademia Italiana del Clarinetto (Italian Clarinet Academy) and has been holding several masterclasses and lectures around the world.

Richard Heller received many commissions from soloists, ensembles and organisations and was awarded several prizes, among which of notable importance are grants from the city of Vienna and the city of Augsburg, prize of the Austrian Ministry of Arts and Education and numerous 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes at various International Composition Competitions. His pieces have been performed and broadcasted around Europe, Asia, South Africa, Argentina, and the USA, and several works are recorded on CD. Performers of his works include Vienna State Opera Choir, Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio Symphony Orchestra Ljubljana (Slovenia), Tonkünstler-Orchester (Vienna), Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle (State Orchestra) Schwerin, Orquestra Sinfonica Santa Fe (Argentina) and numerous others. His publishers include Edition Kunzelmann (Zürich), Bärenreiter-Verlag (Kassel), Vogt & Fritz (Schweinfurt), ISG Publications (Bellingham, WA, USA), Edition Avantus (Augsburg), Verlag Neue Musik (Berlin) and others.

Contemporary Chamber Music 2 will be available on every digital outlet and platform on March 25th, 2020 on RMN Classical.
