Stefano Taglietti
Stefano Taglietti (Rome, 1965) is an Italian composer with a large catalogue of works that counts more than 150 compositions including music for orchestra, theatre, chamber ensemble, choir, new digital technologies and electroacoustic instruments. Initially, a pupil of Sylvano Bussotti, the meeting with Hans Werner Henze was later very important for his training.
His music has been commissioned by composers, festivals and venues including Hans Werner Henze, La Biennale di Venezia 2007-2012, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Accademia di Francia-Villa medici Roma, Rai Nuova Musica-Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, Gerd Albrecht Deutsche Pavillon-expò Hannover 2000, I Solisti Aquilani, Centro Ricerche Musicali and numerous others.
His music has been performed at Berlin Philharmonie, Nuremberg Opera, Festival dei Due Mondi, Spoleto, Podewil-Berlin, University City of Paris, Salle Vitali; La MaMa Theatre of New York; Freshno Opera Festival California-U.S.A; Cincinnati University; Festival Strawinky Krakaw; Ravenna Festival; Società dei Concerti B. Barattelli; University of Nevada – Las Vegas; Festival di Nuova Consonanza-Roma; NO GO Festival, Rome and in other important international festivals of Contemporary Music in Prague, Kiev, Lviv, and theatre seasons at Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Ravello Festival, Angelica – Bologna and at numerous other institutions in Europe, Middle East, U.S.A and South America.
Most of his scores are published by Rai Com, Chester Music London and others.
In 2017 he co-founded the Web Radio RadiostArt and he is the presenter of the show Clocks and Clouds, a program all about new music and contemporary international artistic languages introduced to the audience through listening, interviews and live discussions.
Since 2018 he is the coordinator of the contemporary music festival MusAnima (Crossroads of contemporary music and culture) and was appointed by the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese.
He has been teaching in various conservatories since 1996 and is currently teaching Composition and Compositional Disciplines at the Conservatory of Music “U. Giordano” (Foggia, Italy).
