Leo Cicala

Leo Cicala is an electroacoustic composer, acousmatic performer, live performer, and teacher. He graduated with honours in Electronic Music at the Conservatory “Tito Schipa” in Lecce, in Band Instrumentation at the same Institute and also in Biological Sciences. He founded the association “ACUSMA Teatro del Suono” (www.acusma.it) in Bari, which encourages sound arts research by promoting teaching activities, concerts and music production. Winner of the first prize in electroacoustic composition “Bangor Dylan Thomas Prize” in the United Kingdom and finalist in several electroacoustic music competitions, his compositions are performed at major festivals in Europe, Japan, South America and the United States.
