Jean-Frédéric Molard began playing the violin as a child, under the direction of his father at the Academy of Tours. He then attended the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris (C.N.R.) where in 1994 was awarded the first prize of violin and the following year of chamber music. He continued his studies at the Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music, studying with Endre Kleve and Serge Bemant, obtaining his higher diplomas in chamber music and violin with great distinction in 1999. He also studied in masterclasses with Hungarian violinist Gyorgy Pauk, the Alban Berg Quartet and the Parisii Quartet.

He is a scholar of the foundation Mathilde Horlait-Dapsen and award-winner/finalist of the Rome chamber competition (T.I.M.).

Jean-Frédéric Molard is member of the Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia and performs regularly with the Liège Philharmonic Orchestra and Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also the solo violin of the Brussels Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and playing in numerous concerts all over Europe. Among the countries he’s performed in there are France, Spain and Belgium.

In 2003, he joined the “Soledad” ensamble, and thanks to them, he’s been able to tour in Japan, Canada, Colombia, France, and Italy.

In 2013 he was invited by the Colombian National Orchestra to perform the Brahms double concerto, and in 2014, he recorded Bartok’s solo violin sonata for the record label “Fuga Libera” and a cd with the pianist Jean-Noël Remiche (Duo Gemini-”Road Movies”, Pavane). Jean-Frédéric Molard is also member of the “B’strings” who recorded a cd with Manu Comté (bandoneon) in 2015.

He plays a Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume’s violin, 1840.
