Yukiko Yoden


Yukiko-Yoden-webYukiko Yoden is a Japanese composer. In addition to composing for film and the theatre, her standalone pieces have been performed in various countries, including China, Korea, Iceland, and the United States. Her focus is on creating music pieces for specific situations and environments, working with a variety of sound materials such as orchestral and chamber music, traditional Japanese instruments, and electronic sounds.

She received her Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD in Musicology and Music Studies from Tokyo University of the Arts under Tatsuhiko Nishioka, Toru Kamekawa and Atushi Marui. She was a visiting scholar at the Stanford University Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics where she researched 3D sound creation.

She is currently an assistant professor at Kobe University, where she teaches Musicology and Sound Creation.
