Ciro Longobardi


Ciro Longobardi is an Italian pianist. Finalist and best pianist at the Gaudeamus Competition in Rotterdam in 1994, Kranichsteiner Musikpreis within the Ferienkurse of Darmstadt in the same year, he played for Milano Musica, Ravenna Festival, Aperto Reggio Emilia, Angelica Bologna, Traiettorie Parma, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, Ente Teatro San Carlo of Naples, Ente Teatro Massimo Palermo, Biennale di Venezia, Accademia Chigiana Siena, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, I Solisti Aquilani, Saarländischer Rundfunk Saarbrücken, Unerhörte Musik Berlin, INA GRM Paris, Guggenheim Museum New York, Salzburg Festival, IIC Stuttgart, Strasbourg, Tokyo.

He has recorded for Stradivarius, Limen, Mode Records, RAI Trade, Die Schachtel, Kairos, and has received several critical awards, including a 5-star rating from the French magazine Diapason and the 2019 Abbiati Record Award for his complete recording of Olivier Messiaen’s Catalogue d’Oiseaux (Piano Classics).

He is pianist of the Ensemble Prometeo of Parma, founding member and artistic coordinator of the collective Dissonanzen of Naples. He teaches at the Conservatory “G. Martucci” in Salerno (Italy).
