Robin Julian Heifetz


Robin Julian Heifetz studied music composition at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His principal teacher was Salvatore Martirano, inventor of the SalMar Construction. He earned the doctorate in 1978 and then served as a residency fellow at the following institutions: (1) Stiftelsen EMS Stockholm, Sweden; (2) Computer Music Studio, Colgate University, Hamilton, New York, U.S.A.; (3) Sonic Research Laboratories, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada; (4) Electroacoustic Music Studio, Tel Aviv University, Ramat Aviv, Israel; (5) Institute for Psychoacoustics and Electronic Music, Rijksuniversiteit-Gent, Belgium; and (6) Audio-Digital Laboratories, Vancouver, British Columbia,
Canada.

Since 1998, his fixed media and mixed media works appeared on Electroshock Presents: Electroacoustic Music, Volumes II, V, VII and VIII of Electroshock Records in Moscow, Russia. In 2014, his two-CD collection Out of Kilter was released by Soundcarrier Music Network in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. In 2017, his music appeared on the disc Sn: Electronic Miniatures of Janus Music & Sound in Bremen, Germany.
