Vortichez completed a master’s degree in philosophy in London in 2008, and has lived in several different countries since. Engaged also with visual art, somatics and poetry, and with plans to open a cultural space and nightspot in Northeastern Brazil in 2019 with multichannel speaker setup, she aims ultimately at a new kind of Gesamtkunstwerk. She hopes to propagate multichannel club music.
Her spatial tape music sometimes utilises her own field recordings. Vortichez attended the Rarescale Electroacoustic Composition course with Michael Oliva in 2015, the Stockhausen Kürten course in Sound Projection in 2017, and is a certificate holder in Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening practice. She performed her octophonic piece Hatshepsut’s Harem at BEAST FEaST in April 2018.
