Gianni Giacomazzo


Born in Camposampiero (PD / ITALY – 31.01.1965), he graduated in piano under the guidance of M ° Pietro Soraci in 1987 and in Choral Music and Choir under the direction of Maestro Natalino Cleats in 1987 (autumn session). He has taught piano at private schools and music theory at the Italian Blind Union of Padua with the Braille method. He studied organ and was choirmaster at the shrines of Antoniani Camposampiero (PD).

Then he decided to devote himself to the Music Composition graduating in Composition in 1994.

Enrolled in orchestral conducting at the Scuola Civica in Milan under the guidance of M. Emilio Pomarico. He attended the specialization course of Choral Conducting with M. Bruno Zagni in Ravenna in 1994, and was a student of M. Donatoni at Chigiana Academy of Music in Siena, winning a scholarship -offered by SIAE- in 1995, ’96, ’97, ’98. In addition to the scholarships he received a diploma of merit in ’96, ’97 and ’98.

In 1999 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs selected Gianni for a master in Music Composition at Atlantic Center For The Arts in Florida (U.S. – 1999).

He also studied electronic music at the Conservatory C. Pollini in Padova and followed the course of improvement in Fiesole. He was selected for the postgraduate course in Academy of St. Cecilia (Rome) studying with M° Azio Corghi.

He graduated with honors (cum laude) in music education at the Conservatory C. Pollini in Padova on 21/06/2008, and in musicology and musical heritage at the University of Padua with a thesis on: Frottole Book Two, Ottaviano Petrucci, Venice 1504 – Transcription and critical edition, later published by CLEUP.

In 2014 he specialized in “Composition for Theatre and Ballet” studying at Verona Opera Academy (Verona, Italy)

He is the winner of several prizes and awards and his music has been performed in Italy and abroad. Some of his composition are published by Edizioni Musicali Agenda of Bologna.
