Anruo Cheng

Anruo Cheng, born in China, is a Miami-based composer, music producer, and electronic musician. She holds a Doctoral degree in Musical Art from University of Miami. Before that, she was a music producer and received her Master degree in Media Writing and Production from the University of Miami. Her doctoral project focuses on data mining form non-musical material and application into acoustic instrumental composition. The non-musical material is related to sonification technique and astronomical data from NASA. 

Cheng is a prize-winning composer whose works have been performed by worldwide musicians from the US, China, and South Korea. The field of her music varies, including contemporary acoustic music, electroacoustic music, electronic instruments/installations design, popular music, and film music. She is also an electronic music performer who performed her music installation and electronic instrument work in various electronic music festivals.

Her diverse musical background and culture background is the creation sources that continually enable her to mix and match multiple genres and new ideas into her compositions.
